In the name of God Amen: I, I.L. Bird, of said country and state being of sound mind but in feeble health and knowing that I must shortly depart this life, consider it right and proper, both as respects my family and myself, that I now make some disposition of my property with which a kind Providence has blessed me, do therefore make this my last will and testament, justly revoking all others theretofore made by me.

1st Item - I desire that my body be buried in a decent and Christianlike manner, suitable to my condition on circumstances in life. My Soul I trust shall return to rest with God, who gave it, as a hope for eternal salvation through the merits and atonement of the blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ whose religion I have professed and as I hereby trust, have enjoyed for fifty years.

2nd Items - I desire and direct that all my just debt be paid without delay by my Executors hereinafter appointed as I am unwilling any creditors should be delayed in their just rights, especially as there is no necessity for delay (over)

3rd Items - I give and bequeath and devise to my beloved wife, Sarah Louisa, with whom I have lived in strict quiet for thirty seven years my tract of land whereon I now reside, containing eighty five (85) acres with all the rights, members appertuenances in any manner appertaining to her own proper use during her natural life or widowhood, then to be divided between my natural heirs as shown in item 4. Also I give and bequeath to my said wife Sarah Louise all my right title claims and interest I have to and in the "Birds Water Mills" and all appertenances thereto belonging, it being the one half interest to and in said mill for and during her natural life or widowhood.

Item 4 - I give and bequeath to my legal heirs Viz: R.P. Bird and George P. Bird (my brothers) and Mrs. Susan E. Bradley and Mrs. Martha E. Hodges (my sisters) all my right title claims or interest I may have to and in all the real estate and appurtenances specified in Item no 3 which is bequeathed to my wife Sarah Louisa during her natural life or widowhood by said item there at her death or end of widowhood, the same is bequeathed to my said natural heirs as mentioned above to be equally divided between them.
