Standard Procedures for Cemetery Visits and Funeral Arrangements

  • Inform Community Relations (Public Affairs Office) of visit by telephone, (912) 767-5687 or 912 767-7111. The office is located on Bultman Avenue in Building T-1191 near the main gate of Fort Stewart.

  • Try to give notice five (5) days prior to date desired. Exceptions will be made for funeral arrangements. Give time and length of visit. Provide names of persons visiting, or if large party, number making visit and key person arranging visit. Provide vehicle make and license number. Give name of cemetery to be visited.


  • Pick up pass on day of visit at Range Control Building, 7901, a two story building on Highway 144. The phone number is (912) 767-8777 or (912) 767-7568.


  • If large groups, such as the annual event at Taylors Creek, plan to visit, please try to inform Community Relations/Public Affiars at least sixty (60) days prior to the visit so that proper arrangements can be made with Range Control to clear training area, and with Directorate of Engineering and Housing to grade roads and get the contractor to beautify the cemetery to be visited.


  • These guidelines are in effect to assure your safety on Fort Stewart and make your visit as pleasant as possible.


  • Exceptions to the above guidelines can be made when the occasion calls for it

    At the time permission is granted for a visit to the cemetery, Range Control will outline a route based on road conditions and training in the area
