            Probate Record of Evan Harris, Green County, AL

The petition of Sandford T. Harris and David D. Harris administrator of the goods and chattels rights and credits which were of Evan R. Harris (word unclear) in his lifetime who decd intestate Respectfully showeth unto your honor that Evan R. Harris deceased died in Greene County intestate on the 4th day of September AD 1840 that on the or about the 12th day of  October  AD 1840 letters of administration of the goods and chattels rights and credits which were of the said Evan R. Harris in his lifetime were duly granted to your petitioners by the orphans court of Greene County. Your petitioners further show unto your honor that the said Evan R. Harris left a widow Lucinda Harris and also the following children his heirs at law him surviving to wit. Your petitioners: Sanford T., Harris and David D. Harris and Archibald Harris, Elizabeth Harris wife of Sherod W. Harris all of whom are of full age. Also John R. Harris Simeon P. Harris, Evan C. Harris Leah D. Harris Staunton Y. Harris who are infants of tender age and unmarried. The said Evan R. Harris died seized and possessed of certain tract or parcels of land situated in Green County and known and described as follows ...  Which

Notes:  Lucinda was also identified as Leodicia Harris. John Harris sen.
was mentioned in other records but its not clear whether he was Evan's
brother or father. The actual records were quite long. I only copied the
pages that I found important in that they named people and
relationships.
