THOMAS H HARRIS TO JOSEPH BROOKS (1823)
To all to whom these presents
shall come greeting. Know ye that I Thomas
H Harris of the county of
Blount and state of Alabama for and in
consideration of the sum three
Hundred and thirty five dollars received
to my full satisfaction of
Joseph T Brooks of the county of Blount and
state aforesaid have this
day granted bargained sold and confirmed and
by these presents do grand
bargain and confirm unto the said Brooks his
heirs and assigns the following
described lot of parcel of land and
appertenances than unto belonging
lying in the town of Elyton and county
of Jefferson situated and
bounded as follows that is to say situated and
lying on the south side of
the main street which runs westwardly through
said town and bounded and
fronting the same fifty five feet and winding
back two hundred and ten feet
bounded on the east side by a lot deeded
by William C. Tarrant to Carter
Tarrant said lot of land above

| SHERIFF TO EARL
To all to whom these presents
shall come. I John B. Ayer, Sheriff of the
county of Jefferson in the
state of Alabama, send greeting: Whereas by a
write of execution issued
from the office of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of said County and to
me directed and delivered tested the 26th
day of January 1829 I was
commanded to made of the goods and chattels
lands and tenements of Thomas
H. Harris the sum of one hundred and
thirty four dollars and fifty
cents debt together with the further sum
of eleven dollars and twenty
five cents costs which Morris Roberts late
of the March term of the said
Circuit court in the year 1828 had
recovered against him said
Thomas Harris has appeared of record and
whereas I did on the twenty
sixth day of January 1829 for want of goods
chattels of the said Thomas
H Harris levy on the lot whereon Allen
Adkins then lived, lying in
the town of Elyton

Know all men by these presents
that I Mark M. Harris of the county of
Jefferson state of Alabama
for and in consideration of the sum of seven
hundred and fifty dollars

and state aforesaid the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have this
day bargained sold and delivered
unto the said John Riley

YOUNGBLOOD TO HARRIS (1843)
Benton County, AL. Know
all men by these presents that we Simion
Youngblood and Mila Ann Youngblood
his wife of the State and County
aforesaid for and in consideration
of one hundred and fifty dollars to
us in hand paid by Ashley
B. Harris of said state and county of
Jefferson the receipt whereof
we hereby acknowledge have bargained sold
and delivered and by these
presents do bargain sell and deliver unto the
said Ashley B. Harris the
SE ¼ of NE ¼ of Section Twenty Eight Township
sixteen Range one West containing
40 26/100 acres in the District of
Tuskaloosa and State of Alabama.
To have and hold the aforesaid
bargained premises unto the
said Ashley B. Harris forever and we the
said Simion Youngblood and
Mila Ann Youngblood his wife for ourselves
and executors administrators
shall and will warrant and define the same
against all persons unto the
said Ashley B. Harris his administrators,
Executors and assigns by these
presents. There testimony where of we
presents set our hands and
seal this 29th day of November 1843

BROWN TO HARRIS
This indenture made this twenty
fifth day of September one thousand
eight hundred and thirty three
between Crawford Brown of the County of
Jefferson in the State of
Alabama of the one part and Charles Harriss of
the same county of the other
part that the said Crawford Brown for and
in consideration of the sum
of eighty dollars to him in hand paid the
receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath this day bargained sold and
conveyed and by these presents
doth bargain sell alien and [ possess ? ]
and convey unto9 the said
Charles Harris all that certain tract or
parcel of land lying and being
in the County of Jefferson in the state
of Alabama known by the name
of the first place on Cain Creek South East
¼ of North East ¼
of Section No. 10 Township No. 14 of Range N. 3 West
containing 40 Acres

This indenture made the 4th
day of May 1836, between William Butler,
Elizabeth Butler, the older
Martin Butler, Irenea Bibb, Mary Butler,
Minerva Butler, Elizabeth
Butler (the younger) and Cleopatra Butler of
the first part of the state
of Alabama and county of Jefferson and John
Harris of Walker County and
State aforesaid of the second part
witnesseth that the said part
of the first part for and in consideration
of the sum of three hundred
dollars in hand paid at and before the
sealing and delivery of these
presents by the said party of the second
part the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained
sold and conveyed and doth
by these presents bargain sell and convey
unto the said party of the
second part to his heirs and assigns forever
all that tract or parcel of
land known as the west half of the north
east of section one of township
seventeen and range three west in the
district of lands sold at
Tuscaloosa.
Together with all and singular
the tenements and appurtenances thereunto
belonging or in any will appertaining
and the reversion and reversions
remainder and remainder rents
issues and profits thereof and also all
the estate right title interest
claim or demand whatever of said of the
said party of the first part
their heirs and assigns either in law or
equity of in and to the above
bargained premises and every part and
parcel thereof except the
buying ground where there is now one grave to
contain a quarter of an acre.

between Ashley B. Harris of
the first part and John Worthington of the
second part both of the county
of Jefferson and State of Alabama.
Witnesseth that whereas the
said party of the first part is indebted to
the said party of the second
in the sum of fifty four dollars by note of
this date ;and due twelve
months after date and the said Ashley B.
Harris being willing and desirous
to secure the punctual payment of said
note at maturity has for that
purpose given granted bargained and sold
and doth by these presents
grand bargain and sell unto the said John
Worthington his heirs and
assigns, executors and administrators to wit
????? described tract of land
to with: the south east ? of the north
east quarter of section twenty
eight township sixteen range one west to
have and to hold the same

note, bearing even date with these presents
payable one day after the
date whereof to Richard Hudson guardian or is
order, with the condition
to pay the tax in addition to legal interest
also a note made payable to
Mrs. Dilly Sandifer with David Hanby
security and one payable to
James L. Sandifur with David Hanby security
the amt and date of each of
said notes not remembered but to be
ascertained and placed on
margin of this indenture and whereas the said
John Harris and Catharine
Harris are desirous of securing first the
payment of said note

second part Witnesseth that the said part
of the first part for and
in consideration of the sum of seven hundred
dollars to them in hand paid
at and before the sealing and delivery of
these presents by the said
party of the second part the receipt whereof
in hereby acknowledge hath
granted bargained sold and conveyed and doth
