ELIZABETH HARRIS, daughter of John HARRIS and Mary HAMILTON
was born 19 Mar 1787 in Washington County, PA. She married
William POOL 10 Nov 1809 by whom she had ten children.
They lived in Washington County until 1812, when they removed
to Richland County, Ohio and settled where the village of
Ontario now stands. Mr Pool died 30 Nov 1846 and Elizabeth
died 16 June 1863 and both are buried at the Pleasant Hill
Cemetery in Richland County.

RHODA POOL, daughter of William POOL and Elizabeth HARRIS was
born 2 Nov 1811 In Washington County, PA. She married 29 Oct
1833 William POST. They had eight children.  They settled in
Richland County, Ohio where Rhoda died 10 Jan 1856. She is
buried at Pleasant Hill in Richland County.

ANNA POOL, daughter of William POOL and Elizabeth HARRIS was
born 20 Jan 1814 in Richland County, Ohio. She married Samuel
PIERCE 24 Oct 1834 by whom she had seven children.
Samuel died in the Civil War, Union Army 2 July 1863 and is
buried in a Catholic cemetery on the Yazoo River near
Vicksburg, Mississippi.

9 Feb 1821 in Richland County, Ohio. He married 4 Nov 1847,
Mary HARTUPEE. (This name is spelled HARTEEFREE on the I.G.I.
sheets) Mr.  Pool was a farmer and lived near Upper Sandusky,
Wyandot County, Ohio.  They had ten Children.

WILLIAM HAMILTON POOL, son of William POOL and Elizabeth
HARRIS was born 17 June 1825 in Richland County, Ohio.
He married Bertha Ellen LEWIS 14 Jan 1847 and had one child.
Barbara Pool died 25 November 1869 in Morrow County, Ohio.
William married for his second wife Betsy J. MOSIER a widow
whose maiden name was WELLS 10 July 1870. William and Betsy
had five children. Mr Pool was a carpenter and joiner by
trade.  He acted as Deputy Treasurer of Hardin County, Iowa.
They lived in Eldora, Hardin County, Iowa.

Nelson M. KING 14 Mar 1854 by whom she had two children.

IRA POOL, son of William POOL and Elizabeth HARRIS was born
5 Nov 1830 in Richland County, Ohio. He married Sarah STORER
by whom he had two children.

WILLIAM FINLEY POOL, son of William POOL and Elizabeth HARRIS
was born, 23 July 1848. He married in Wyandot County, Ohio,
Anna EATON, 16 Mar 1875. They had one son.

                      THE HARRIS FAMILY
 

WILLIAM HARRIS, son of John HARRIS and Mary HAMILTON was born
15 July 1789 in Washington County, PA. When still a young man
he left his native State, wended his way to the wilds of
Ohio, where there were more indians and wild beasts than
white men. He married Geulie Elma GREGG 21 Sep 1815. He
entered Government land in Bloomfield Township, Richland, but
now Morrow County, Ohio.

There he erected his log cabin, and they underwent the
hardships and privations that men and women in those days
were obliged to endure. He cleared up a farm in what was
called the beech woods, where he resided until the fall of
1835, when he sold his farm and removed with his family to
Logan County, Ohio, where he resided until 1860, when he
again caught the spirit of emigration, and removed, in
company with some of his children, to Cedar County, Iowa.
There he resided the balance of his life, dying 11 Feb 1863.
He was buried in Shuren Cemetery in Cedar County, Iowa. His
wife died, 13 Aug 1864 and was buried beside her husband.
They had ten children.

JOHN SINCLAIR HARRIS, son of William HARRIS and Geulie GREGG
was born 13 Aug 1816 in Richland County, Ohio. He married
Matilda McCALL in Logan County, Ohio 5 Sept 1839. John was a
farmer and died 26 Sept 1845 and is buried in Logan County.
They had two children.

SARAH HARRIS, daughter of William HARRIS and Geulie GREGG was
born 7 Sep 1818 in Richland County, Ohio. She married Joshua
SCOTT 26 Jan 1837. They had eight children and lived in
Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.

and they lived in Urbana, Ohio.
