Will of Thomas Boyte
September 3, 1786: In the name of God, Amen. I Thomas Boyte of the Province of North Carolina and County of Wayne, being of perfect mind and memory make this my Last Will and Testament. First I desire to be buried in a descent manner at the Derevation of my Exectors. My Temporal Estate first I give and bequesth of my beloved son Shadarack Boyte a piece of land begining at the nut orchard and down to branch to the Prickhosen to the line and to its beginning. I give and bequeath to my beloved son Amos Boyte a piece of land which was Caleb Mitchel's land, the land which is on the East side of south Branch in that tract to him, I give and bequeath forever. I give to my wife her lifetime my Estate to maintain her on and after her decease whole and sole Estate to my beloved son Thomas Boyte. I constitute and appoint my son Thomas Boyte and Amos Boyte to be my whole and sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby uterly revoke, disalow and disannul all former wills and legacies by one heretofore may otherwise left or made declaring and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament as witnessed wherof. I here unto set my hand and seal this 3 day of September 1786.
