                Richard (Dick) Boyd

Richard Boyd, aged 73 years, five months and eighteen days, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mabel Clark, in Fulton, Indiana, 19 September 1934.. He had been in failing health for three years, and death was attributed to heart disease.

The body was taken to the Drake Funeral Home for burial preparation and will be removed to the home of another daughter, Mrs. William Latta, 118 South Tippecanoe Street Peru (Indiana).  Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, previous to the funeral the remains will be taken back to the Drake Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 2PM Saturday.

Mr. Boyd is survived by his widow, Mrs Phoebe Elnora Westbrook Boyd, six children, one brother, a niece, 22 grandchildren, and ten great grand- children. The children are Rud Boyd, Logansport, Indiana, John Boyd, Quincy, Michigan, George Boyd, Oakley Michigan, Mrs. Nellie Britton, and Mrs Rose Latta of Peru, and Mrs. Mable Clark of Fulton. The brother is Edward Boyd of Ohio and the niece is Mrs. Myrtle Boyd Bendlin of Toledo, Ohio, daughter of Edward Boyd.

              Phoebe Elnora Boyd

Mrs. Phoebe Elnora Boyd, 87, widow of Richard Boyd died at 2:05 PM Saturday at the residence of
Mrs. Reed Powell (Mable Boyd), of 529 E. Main of complications. She was ill one year.

Mrs. Boyd was a resident of  Peru (Indiana) for 50 years and was a member of  the Ohio Brethren Church.

She was born Dec 2, 1863 in Licking County, Ohio daughter of Albert and Sarah (Laudenslagher) Westbrook. She married Richard Boyd in 1880. He preceded her in death (1934).

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Reed Powell, of Peru, and Mrs. William Latta of Route 4; two sons John Boyd of Hillsdale , Michigan  and Rudd Boyd of Logansport, Indiana; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and six Great-great grandchildren. Seven children, six brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.

The body is at the Drake-Flowers Funeral Home, where friends may call.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2PM Tuesday, from the funeral home, the Rev. Max Campbell officiating. Peru Daily Tribune, Monday Sept 24, 1951.

                     Rose C. Latta

Rose C. Latta 92, of 90 Logan Street died at 10:23 AM Monday, November 30, 1987 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.

She was born February, 1895 in Ohio to Richard and Phoebe Elnora Westbrook Boyd. In 1926 she married William "Babe" Latta. He died 23 June 1954.

Surviving are four daughters, Juanita Black, Elnora Landis, Betty Eberle, and Edna Zink all of Peru, Indiana; one son Robert of Peru; one stepson, Ralph of Peru; one sister, Mabel Clark of Peru and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Two sons and a daughter are deceased.

Mrs Latta had retired from the Peru Nursing Home. She was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church and a life member of the Eagles auxillary.

Services will be 11:00AM Thursday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, the Rev. Carl Lemna officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Home Cemetery. Friends may call fron 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

                       Mabel Clark

Mabel E. Clark, 91, died at 7:37 PM Wednesday, June 10, 1992, at Miller's Merry Manor in Peru.

Mrs. Clark was born December 22, 1900, in St. James, Missouri to Richard and Nora (Phoebe Elnora) Westbrook Boyd.

She married George Clark and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1932.

Mrs. Clark owned and operated the Terminal Sandwich Shop in Peru from 1950 to 1970. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the past president of the Altrusa Club.

Surviving are one son, Richard Clark of Paine, Ohio; one daughter Vivian Hartleroad, Peru; six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Her husband, one son, two daughters, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 12, 1992, at 9AM with the Rev. Eugene Headings officiating. Burial  will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
