10. Joseph³ SUTTON (Joseph², George¹) was born circa 1681. Joseph died January 18, 1723/4 in Perquimans County, North Carolina at 42 years of age.⁽⁴⁶⁾

He married twice. He married Bennett STIPNEY circa 1705. Bennett was born circa 1685. Bennett died November 8, 1711 in Perquimans County, North Carolina at 26 years of age.⁽⁴⁷⁾ He married Rebecca JONES about 1715. Rebecca was born March 14, 1694/5 in Perquimans County, North Carolina.⁽⁴⁸⁾ Rebecca was the daughter of Peter JONES and Elizabeth WAITE.

Joseph SUTTON and Bennett STIPNEY had the following children:

45 i. Hannah⁴ SUTTON was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina January 6, 1705/6.⁽⁴⁹⁾

46 ii. John SUTTON was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina December 23, 1707.⁽⁵⁰⁾ John died February 16, 1707/8 in Perquimans County, North Carolina at less than one year of age.⁽⁵¹⁾

47 iii. Sarah SUTTON was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina October 10, 1711.⁽⁵²⁾

Joseph SUTTON and Rebecca JONES had the following children:

48 iv. Christopher SUTTON was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina.

49 v. Elizabeth SUTTON was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina.

50 vi. Mary SUTTON was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina. Mary died about January 1738/9 in Perquimans County, North Carolina at approximately 18 years of age.
