234. Elizabeth⁶ SUTTON (Uriah⁵, Zebulon⁴, Daniel³, William², George¹) was born January 30, 1771. Elizabeth died December 27, 1821 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey at 50 years of age.

She married Barnabus DOTY November 26, 1795 at First Presbyterian Church in Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey.⁽²³⁹⁾ Barnabus was born November 12, 1771 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey. Barnabus was the son of Joseph DOTY and Grace COLYER. Barnabus died 1835 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey at 63 years of age. He was interred 1835 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey.

His name appears in some records as both Barnet and Barnard, in addition to Barnabus.

Information contained in Edward F.H. Sutton's "Genealogical Notes of the Sutton Family of New Jersey" (pages 36 & 37) appears in error. Elizabeth, oldest daughter of Uriah is not included in the family. Daughter Ann, born 1778, is shown as the wife of Barnabus Doty. Ann or Anna as she is called in Ethan Allen Doty's "Doty-Doten Family in America" married Stephen Doty who was the younger brother of Barnabus.

Elizabeth SUTTON and Barnabus DOTY had the following children:

+ 262 i. Uriah Sutton⁷ DOTY was born October 1, 1796.

+ 263 ii. Phebe DOTY was born December 12, 1798.

+ 264 iii. Ann DOTY was born February 23, 1801.

265 iv. Elizabeth Sutton DOTY was born in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey September 7, 1803. Elizabeth died July 3, 1868 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey at 64 years of age.⁽²⁴⁰⁾ She married John ADAMSON circa 1830 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey. John died 1881 in Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey.

266 v. Joseph Harvey DOTY was born in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey March 31, 1806.

+ 267 vi. Daniel Southard DOTY was born December 13, 1808.

268 vii. Stephen DOTY was born in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey September 17, 1811. Stephen died 1834 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey at 22 years of age.

+ 269 viii. Samuel S. DOTY was born June 2, 1814.
