He married Matilda Marie REUTER October 11, 1899 in Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey.(584) Matilda was born February 22, 1879. Matilda died August 16, 1962 at 1000 Trenton Avenue in Point Pleasant, Ocean County, New Jersey at 83 years of age.(585) She was interred August 20, 1962 at Greenwood Cemetery, Southeast 1/4, Lot 1269, Grave 1 in Brielle, Monmouth County, New Jersey.

MRS. CLARENCE MILLER
POINT PLEASANT - Mrs. Matilda M. Miller, 83, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence F. Lee, 1000 Trenton Ave.
Mrs. Miller had lived with her daughter for 12 years. She was formerly of Eatontown. She was a member of the Eatontown Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Miller was the widow of Clarence Miller.
Also surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Addison Davidson, Shrewsbury, and Mrs. Andrew J. Reid, Bradenton Beach, Fla.; two sons, Arden Miller, Eatontown, and Elden Miller, Point Pleasant Beach; a brother, William Reuter, Elizabeth; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach, is in charge of arrangements.
A Death Notice in the August 17, 1962 edition of the Asbury Park Evening Press newspaper reads as follows:
MILLER - Matilda M., age 83, of 1000 Trenton Ave., Point Pleasant, N.J. on Aug. 16, 1962. Beloved mother of Mrs. Addison Davidson, Mrs Andrew J. Reid, Mrs. Clarence F. Lee, Arden and Elden Miller. Sister of William Reuter. Funeral services at Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant on Mon., Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle, N.J. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sun.
Clarence Miller's World War I draft registration card, dated 9 September 1918, lists his occupation as an Engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad. His residence is given as 15 East Lake Avenue, Rahway, NJ. He is described as being of medium height and build and having brown eyes and brown hair. His birth date is given as 23 October 1879. This information is erroneous and should be 23 October 1877.

POINT PLEASANT BORO - Clarence S. Miller, 63, of 963 Bay avenue, Point Pleasant boro, died early today after a short illness. He was a retired engineer of the Pennsylvania railroad, having worked for the company for 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Matilda Miller; three daughters, Mrs. Addison Davidson, Shrewsbury; Mrs. Andrew J. Reed, Eatontown; Mrs. Clarence Lee, Point Pleasant boro; two sons, Arden Miller, Eatontown, and Edward Miller, Point Pleasant boro; two sisters, Mrs Edward Dody, Cranford and Mrs Floyd Walters, Roselle. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Funeral Director Allen VanHise.
A Death Notice in the February 6, 1942 edition of the Asbury Park Evening Press newspaper reads as follows:
MILLER - On Feb. 5, Clarence S. Miller in the 64th year of his age. Relatives and friend, also Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers are invited to attend funeral services from the home of his son, Elden W. Miller, 961 Bay Ave., Point Pleasant, N. J., on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. Friends may call Saturday evening.
