He married Sarah (--------) circa 1738 in New Jersey.

John DOTY and Sarah (--------) had the following children:

154 i. Jeremiah⁵ DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey circa 1744. Jeremiah died after 1816 in Smith County, Tennessee. He married twice. He married Sarah (--------) circa 1762. Sarah died after 1794. He married Susannah STOVALL.

He was baptized May 27, 1744 at the Dutch Reformed Church in Raritan, Somerset County, New Jersey.

155 ii. Sarah DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey circa 1747. She married William SPADER.

156 iii. Maria DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey circa 1750. She married James VOORHEES. James was born March 17, 1750/1.

+ 157 iv. Peter Henry DOTY was born circa 1752.

158 v. Catherine DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey March 12, 1754. Catherine died April 1829 in Washington County, Pennsylvania at 75 years of age. She married Abraham VAN VOORHEES June 9, 1773. Abraham was born April 6, 1742 in Long Island, New York. Abraham died April 12, 1819 in Pennsylvania at 77 years of age.

159 vi. John DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey circa 1756. John died April 1819 in Knox County, Ohio at 62 years of age. He married Esther HUNT circa 1780 in Somerset County, New Jersey. Esther was born February 29, 1764 in Somerset County, New Jersey. Esther died circa 1828 in Knox County, Ohio.

160 vii. Elizabeth DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey circa 1759.

161 viii. Jane DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey circa 1762.

162 ix. Cornelius DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey May 5, 1765. He married Abigail BROWN January 31, 1798 in Roxbury, Morris County, New Jersey.⁽⁸²⁾ Abigail was born March 16, 1776 in Somerset County, New Jersey.

163 x. Margaret DOTY was born in Somerset County, New Jersey circa 1767.
