222. Samuel Sutton⁶ DOTY (Daniel⁵, Joseph⁴, Jonathan³, Samuel², Edward¹) was born in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey December 4, 1794. Samuel died September 22, 1863 at 68 years of age.

He married twice. He married Sarah SOUTHARD November 9, 1815 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey.⁽¹²⁸⁾ Sarah was born March 12, 1794. Sarah died October 2, 1847 at 53 years of age.⁽¹²⁹⁾ He married Susan (SOUTHARD) Adamson December 2, 1849 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey.⁽¹³⁰⁾ Susan was born May 13, 1805 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey. Susan was the daughter of Lott SOUTHARD and Sarah RICKEY. Susan died December 28, 1875 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey at 70 years of age.⁽¹³¹⁾

He was baptized June 28, 1795 at the Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey.⁽¹³²⁾

Samuel Sutton DOTY and Sarah SOUTHARD had the following children:

287 i. Elizabeth⁷ DOTY was born August 28, 1816. Elizabeth died August 4, 1886 at 69 years of age. She married John DAYTON May 19, 1841 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey.⁽¹³³⁾ John was born March 14, 1813. John died May 6, 1896 at 83 years of age.

She was baptized November 3, 1816 at the Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey.⁽¹³⁴⁾

288 ii. Isaac S. DOTY was born December 26, 1818. Isaac died September 10, 1822 at 3 years of age.

289 iii. Susan L. DOTY was born July 16, 1821. Susan died May 21, 1831 at 9 years of age.

290 iv. James S. DOTY was born July 12, 1824. James died May 17, 1831 at 6 years of age.

291 v. Sarah S. DOTY was born August 24, 1826. Sarah died June 2, 1831 at 4 years of age.

292 vi. Henry S. DOTY was born June 30, 1828. Henry died June 16, 1899 at 70 years of age.

293 vii. James DOTY was born January 7, 1831. He married Mary E. TERRY October 23, 1867 in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey.⁽¹³⁵⁾ Mary was born February 2, 1839. Mary died January 18, 1899 at 59 years of age.

294 viii. Edwin Alonzo DOTY was born September 17, 1835. Edwin died March 12, 1838 at 2 years of age.
