335. Elihu⁶ BAKER (Daniel⁵, Henry⁴, Daniel³, Nathaniel², Thomas¹) was born in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey July 3, 1802.⁽⁶⁹¹⁾ Elihu died 1873 in Cedar Rapids, Linn Coounty, Iowa at 70 years of age.

He married twice. He married Joanna CARTER January 18, 1829 in Madison, Morris County, New Jersey.⁽⁶⁹²⁾ Joanna was born October 7, 1807. Joanna was the daughter of Lewis CARTER. Joanna died July 26, 1841 in Madison, Morris County, New Jersey at 33 years of age. He married Charlotte CARTER July 24, 1843. Charlotte was born circa 1816 in New Jersey. Charlotte was the daughter of Lewis CARTER.

Elihu Baker was cashier at the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Middletown, NJ for 22 years. Afterwards he lived in Chicago, Illinois and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he died.

Elihu BAKER and Joanna CARTER had the following children:

643 i. Nancy Carter⁷ BAKER was born in New Jersey November 28, 1829. Nancy died October 4, 1904 at 74 years of age. She married twice. She married James C. MAY M.D. She married J. G. MILLIGAN.

+ 644 ii. Lewis Carter BAKER was born December 15, 1831.

+ 645 iii. William Morris BAKER was born September 21, 1834.

+ 646 iv. Alfred Britton BAKER was born August 11, 1836.

647 v. Margaret Osborn BAKER was born in New Jersey September 21, 1838. She married Henry WOOD.

Elihu BAKER and Charlotte CARTER had the following children:

648 vi. Joanna BAKER was born in New Jersey July 8, 1844. Joanna died April 2, 1907 at 62 years of age. She married George R. CARROLL.

+ 649 vii. Asher Carter BAKER was born December 18, 1850.
