104. Nathaniel4 BAKER (Daniel3, Nathaniel2, Thomas1) was born in East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York 1717. Nathaniel died January 17, 1786 in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey at 69 years of age.(235) He was interred January 1786 at Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Section II, Row E, Grave 43 in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey.(236)

He married twice. He married Abigail CONKLING October 5, 1740 in East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York.(237) Abigail was born circa 1720 in East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York. Abigail was the daughter of Lewis CONKLING and Mary BISHOP. Abigail died October 30, 1775 in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey at 55 years of age.(238) She was interred October 1775 at Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Section II, Row E, Grave 44 in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey.(239) She was baptized April 16, 1721 in East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York.(240) He married Mary POTTER May 30, 1776 in New Providence, Essex County, New Jersey.(241) Mary was born circa 1730. Mary died May 13, 1785 in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey at 54 years of age.(242) She was interred May 1785 at Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Section II, Row E, Grave 48 in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey.(243)

He was baptized June 1, 1718 in East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York.(244) Following the death of his father in 1740, he inherited 100 acres of land in Elizabethtown, NJ (now Westfield) "where his house stands". The reference in his father's will to "where his house stands" and the fact that East Hampton church records refer to him as being "of Elizabethtown" at the time of his marriage would indicate that he had removed to New Jersey sometime before 1740. His own will (Lib. 29, page 391) dated 30 December 1785 and proved 6 August 1787 leaves 4 acres of land and 1/2 of his Tanyard to his son, David, and 10 acres of land and 1/2 of the Tanyard to his son, Daniel. The remainder of his real and personal estate is bequeathed to all his sons and daughters, who are not named in the will.
