Nathaniel² BAKER (Thomas¹) was born in East Hampton, Long Island, New York December 22, 1655.⁽²⁴⁾ Nathaniel died February 27, 1738/9 in Amagansett, Suffolk County, New York at 83 years of age.⁽²⁵⁾ He was interred March 1738/9 at the Amagansett Burial Ground, in Amagansett, Suffolk County, New York.⁽²⁶⁾

He married twice. He married Catherine (Catalyntje) SCHELLINGER circa 1678 in East Hampton, Long Island, New York. Catherine was born April 9, 1656 in New Amsterdam, New Netherlands.⁽²⁷⁾ Catherine was the daughter of Jacob SCHELLINGER and Cornelia MELYN. Catherine died May 14, 1722 in Amagansett, Suffolk County, New York at 66 years of age.⁽²⁸⁾ She was interred May 1722 at the Amagansett Burial Ground, in Amagansett, Suffolk County, New York.⁽²⁹⁾ She was baptized April 14, 1656 in New Amsterdam, New Netherlands. He married Sarah POST August 26, 1724 in East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York.⁽³⁰⁾ Sarah was born circa 1666. Sarah died October 9, 1727 in Amagansett, Suffolk County, New York at 61 years of age.⁽³¹⁾ She was interred October 1727 at the Amagansett Burial Ground, in Amagansett, Suffolk County, New York.⁽³²⁾ Nathaniel Baker settled in Amagansett before 1690. His will, dated 12 April 1738 and proved 8 March 1739, makes bequests of land and personal property to his sons, Jonathan and Daniel; and bequests of personal property to his daughters, Abigail Hedges, Catherine Mulford, Hannah Pierson, Joanna Ogden, and Mary Woodruff. It names his son Daniel and neighbor Thomas Osborn, Jr., executors.

Nathaniel BAKER and Catherine (Catalyntje) SCHELLINGER had the following children:

+ 28 ii. Joanna BAKER was born July 7, 1681.

+ 29 iii. Abigail BAKER was born March 15, 1682/3.

30 iv. Henry BAKER was born in East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York April 16, 1686.⁽³³⁾ Henry died about April 30, 1686 in East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York at less than one year of age.⁽³⁴⁾

+ 31 v. Katherine BAKER was born April 4, 1687.

+ 32 vi. Mary BAKER was born November 21, 1689.

+ 33 vii. Daniel BAKER was born August 1, 1692.

+ 34 viii. Hannah BAKER was born January 26, 1694/5.
