Dec 13, 1878
On the 11th inst. a soiree was given by Mr. Robert Ferguson of
Tullyboy, at which the Ballintemple Brass band attended. It was gratifying to
observe the propriety and decorum with which those young men conducted
themselves, passing and repassing, avoiding party tunes, and any demonstration
likely to produce had feeling, confining themselves to familiars - "Home Sweet
Home" "cheer boys cheer" which they played for marching very credibably and in
excellent time.
