Charles Clark - Dr. James FERGUSON of Whiteabbey was licensed
to conduct experiments in bleaching of linen and received in 1770 a grant of
300 pounds from the Linen Board. Dr. Ferguson's Experimental essay in the
use of leys and sours in bleaching is preserved in the Linenhall Library,
Belfast.

Margot
Ferguson - Thomas FERGUSON was born abt.1750, probably north of
Belfast, fought for the British Royal Artillery, 4th Batallion in the American
Revolutionary War. His brother William was a Loyalist who apparently owned land
somewhere in Pennsylvania before the Revolution; he fought with the 29th Penn.
Regiment. Following the war, both brothers settled around Tracadie, New
Brunswick. Thomas married Margaret DWYER.
