further states: Mr. Ferguson takes a deep interest in Irish politics. He was
an intimate friend of Parnell and was instrumental in raising a large aount of
money for the cause of home rule.

In accordance with the resolution passed at the meeting on
Wednesday evening in St Marys Hall, the secretaries attended on Thursday
night from 7.30 to 9.30, when their energies were taxed to the utmost in
enrolling the gentlemen who signified their approval of the establishment in
Belfast of a National Committee in Sustainment of the Irish Parliamentary Party
in its opposition to the Parnell Leadership Committee. The following names have
been handed to us for publication. A further list will appear early next week.
The Secretaries will attend at St Marys Hall to-morrow (Sunday) from 2 to
4 oclock for the purpose of receiving additional names to the list.
