Grand Masonic Ceremony in Bangor (Co. Down). 1882. Laying the
Foundation Stone of a New Hall. Amongst those present were:-

Ballymoney - To facilitate the Quarter Sessions, a goal was
attached to the Western or Charlotte Street end of the building. It was often
called "the Black Hole " and in Miller's list of inhabitant of the town between
the years 1804 - 1810, Archie Ferguson is recorded as living at 2 Pyper Row
(South side) and as being Blackhole Keeper. (Pyper Row was the old name for
Charlotte Street.)
Derriaghy - Bro. Stokes rose to propose "The Health of the
Chairman, Bro. Ferguson, of Lodge No. 602." The Freemason 8 September, 1888, p.

16 February 1903. Masonic Concert. Mr. Geo. C. Ferguson acted
as conductor and accompanist, and deserves to be congratulated on the success
which attended his efforts.

"Blue" Lodges. R.A.C. formed at Greyabbey and Craft Lodge at Ballywalter.

Warrants
148. Cogry, Ballyclare. Robert Rice, the owner of the inn
where 148 sat from 1815, died in February, 1851. The death of Rice compelled
the Lodge to seek new quarters and, possibly through the influence of Adam
Ferguson, who became Secretary in 1852, the Lodge moved to the home of his
father, James, a farmer who lived at Kilbride.
