Haplogroup I2a-Isles-A is a subclade of I2a described in a Wikipedia Article. Persons in this Haplogroup are advised to join the I-L161 (I2a-Isles) Project. The subclade is as defined by Nordtvedt who presents a study of the genesis and spread of Halopgroup I on this page: Haplogroup I Tree and Conjectured Spread Map. . The SNP PF4135 is the terminal SNP of the clade, Driscoll kits 61687 and 159729 tested positive. Recent BigY results dicovered that downstream of PF4135 is A814, no Driscoll has yet tested for that.

Time to Most Recent Common Ancestor

The Time To Most Recent Ancestor (TMRCA) is a measure of relatedness and well defined in the case of a family tree wherein one simply counts the number of generations back to the most recent common ancestor shared with someone else in the tree. From differences in haplotypes between two men it is possible to make a rough estimate of the probability that the TMRCA falls between two numbers. The numbers reported in the table below are such that the TMRCA is expected to fall within the range shown with a probability of 90%.

Network Diagram

A network diagram connects different haplotypes in accordance with specific marker values. Any line that connects two haplotypes represent muations in the markers that differ between the two and its length is the genetic distance. Where lines intersect at intermediate points between haplotypes an attempt has been made to account for missing haplotypes in the data set. Subclades or branches appear in these diagrams when haplotypes with similiar marker values are clustered together. The diagram below was constructed using Fluxus software first with the reduced median method followed by the median joining method.
