Roll Call: Joseph Leo Driscoll
I am the great-grandson of Denis O’Driscoll of Comolane, Cape Clear. Denis died around 1904, so he probably was born somewhere between 1850-1870. My grandfather was born on Cape Clear in 1892 and left the island in 1906 at the age of fourteen. As I understand it, both my great grandparents were Driscolls (Denis and Ellen). I have a number of cousins, children of Ellen’s brothers and sisters, still living on the island. I have restored the house that the family lived since 1902 and I visit there several times a year.
