I am researching William (@1774-??) and Patrick Driscoll (1777-1856) who were brothers. William Driscoll's birthplace is listed as Clonakilty on his military records. William and Patrick (my gggrandfather) were in the Newfoundland Fencibles and fought in the War of 1812. Upon discharge in 1816 they were granted land at (Sherbrooke) New Ross, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada.
William married Eleonor?? and Patrick married Mary Kelly. We haven't been able to trace what happened to William and his family. Patrick and Mary moved to Kentville, Nova Scotia and are buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Kentville, Kings County, Nova scotia.
Their son my gggrandfather Thomas (1819-1907) and Mariah (Mosher) Driscoll as well as my ggrandfather - Michael(1846-1905) and Mary (O'Brien) Driscoll are all buried in St. Jospeh's Cemetery in Kentville, NS, Canada. Some of the descendants of Patrick moved to the US. I would especially like to find records of William and Patrick Driscoll in Cork as well as share information with descendants.
