I am a descendant of Anna Driscoll (Rogan). She was born in Hancock, Michigan, Jan.1896 to James and Catherine(Fleming) Driscoll. Anna died in Butte, Montana in 1937. Her father, James Driscoll was also born in upper penisula Michigan, 4 July, 1870. James died in Butte, Montana in 1916. James and his brother Dennis (born in Wisconsin approx.. 1876) Moved out to Butte to work in the copper mines. Their family had mined from PA, to Michigan, then Wisconsin, then possibly back to Michigan and then to Butte. Father of James and Dennis was Dennis Driscoll born in PA, approx. 1840. His father (name unknown at this point ) was from Ireland. I am pretty sure he was the first of that part of the clan to be born in the US. Dennis Driscoll died in New Diggings, Wisconsin in 1916.

I have been trying to find leads on this family for quite awhile. I have written to all of the Driscoll families left in Butte. During Butte's big mining days the population swelled with the Irish. Many of them from the Cork area. There were several branches of the Driscoll clan. There still are. So if any of this rings a bell--- I am always eager to share.
