John Bernard Driscoll was born abt. 1822 in the Parish of St. Anns Cork. He joined the Army in 1840 and was a member of the 22nd Regiment of Foot for many years. He married Miriam Deacon in 1856 in Portsmouth. His Father was Cornelius Driscoll and was a carpenter. After retiring from the army, John & Miriam & 3 children arrived in Australia in 1865.
