I am descended from Mary Driscoll who was born in Whitechapel, London on May 11, 1870. She died at age 34 of Tuberculosis, not an uncommon demise in the Irish slums of London. Her father Peter Driscoll was born in Cork between 1831-1835 to Michael Driscoll. Her uncle Richard Driscoll was born in Cork abt 1831. Both Peter and Richard came to England sometime soon after 1851 and married there in 1853. I know from their marriage certifcates that their father Michael was dead by 1853.

Hence I am hoping to find the baptisms of Peter and Richard, the sons of Michael Driscoll, in some Cork parish register. To date I have found two candidates for Richard but none for Peter:

• Dunmanway: Dec 7 1829, Richard of Michael Driscol and Bridget McCarthy, sponsors: Richard Driscoll and Johana Chandly, NLI Film P.4805

The Skibbereen records need to be reexamined using the original parish records as many entries on the film were too faint to discern. I am hopeful that Peter will then be found.
