Murray Family Slides

Rev. Henry Murray, of Kansas, had hopes of moving to Alaska after Seminary School, but financial obligations got in the way.  So, in 1956, when his good friend Rev. Hull (who was a missionary in Alaska) asked him to take over for three months, the Murray's jumped at the opportunity.

In March of 1956, Rev. Murray, his wife Helen and their children Nancy and Harold, flew from Peabody, Kansas to Anchorage, Alaska. From Anchorage, the family drove to Homer where they would live and work from March to June of that year.

Rev. Murray was an avid photographer during his extensive travels in Alaska. His photos are a true treasure and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have; they provide a wonderful look into the past.
