I've been given several possible immigration dates for this family. John Fraasch's obituary states that they came to the USA in 1872.
His wife's obituary says they came to the USA in 1873. A Fraasch descendant who lives in Minnesota says they came in 1871. John Fraasch Died in Jefferson, Wisconsin after a ceiling beam that he was trying to raise, fell and hit him on the head. He died a few days later. 9/8/1908 obituary in the Jefferson Banner, Jefferson Wisconsin: " Mrs. Catherine M. D. Fraasch, died Monday, September 28, 1908 at the home of her son, Gustave Fraasch, in the town of Jefferson at the ripe old age of 84 years, 10 months and 4 days. Deceaed was born November 23, 1823 at Picker, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany and came to th is country with her husband and children in 1873, since which time she has made her home in the town of Jefferson. Her husband died 23 years ago and six children have preceededher in death. Mrs. Fraasch was a good neighbor, a kind mother and wife and a consistent christian whose life was devoted to her family and who was respected and beloved by all who know her. She is survived by four sons, John Fraasch of Odessa, Minnesota; William Fraasch of bellingham, Minnesota; Charles Fraasch of this city and Gustave Fraasch of the town of Jefferson; and eleven grandchildren." Catherine Fraasch was known to her family as Mary.
