Concelebrating was the Rev. Raymond Doherty, S.S.E. The readings were proclaimed by Sally's daughter, Shelby Colby. Music was provided by Jerome Monachino. The offertory gifts were presented by her daughters, June Langilotti, Stacy Meunier, Shelby Colby, and Sara Paquette. Words of remembrance were shared by her daughter, Shelby Colby. Interment followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington with Father Rainville offering committal prayers. Arrangements by the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski.

12/31/2002 SALLY JEAN (WIMBLE) COLBY FRANKLIN - Sally Jean (Wimble) Colby, 56, formerly of Colchester died Dec. 29, 2002, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington after a short illness with her family by her side. She was born in Burlington, on Dec. 14, 1946, daughter of Richard and Lillian (Lavalette) Wimble. Sally was a graduate of Essex High School and was married on October 26, 1968, to Richard Colby. She worked as a PBX Dispatcher for St. Michael's College in Colchester for several years. Sally also worked for the late Governor Richard Snelling and helped start the Vermont Fuel Assistance Program. For several years she was involved in several charities and organizations such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, C.V.O.E.O., and the Red Cross. Among her many interests she enjoyed making candy for Christmas, organizing the Lavalette family reunions, being involved in all aspects of her grandchildren's lives, and was a person that her family and friends could always count on. She is survived by her husband, Richard Colby of Franklin; four daughters, June Langilotti of Tatamy, Pa., Stacey Meunier of Swanton, Shelby Colby of St. Albans, and Sara Colby of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Maureen, Jennifer and Christina Langilotti, Marliee Colby, Mikaela and Madelyn Gardner, and Lillian Meunier; her mother, Lillian Wimble; four brothers, Michael Wimble, Timothy Wimble, Peter Wimble, and Brian Wimble; two sisters, Susan Wimble and LoriAnne Wimble; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Wimble. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday Jan. 2, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. in St. Michael Chapel in Colchester. Miss Wanda Colby the daughter of Mr and Mrs James Colby and Bernard Wind the son of Mr and Mrs John Wind were married in Fillmore on Thursday. They will make their home on the North Tract where they are farming.

Melvin John Wind, 68, of Orem, died March 10, 2006.

He was born June 2, 1937 a son of Bernard and Wanda Colby Wind in Delta, Utah.

He married Edith Fullmer in 1955; they were later divorced. Melvin married Neta Heath August 13, 1971; Neta died October 23, 2003. He married Deloris Reynolds December 22, 2005.

Melvin worked in the tire business more than 45 years before retiring. He loved camping and fishing. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of The Eagle and the Loyal Order of The Moose. He also enjoyed photography. He was a great cook and enjoyed sharing his talents with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of North Salt Lake; his children, Phillip Wind, Michael Wind, Steve Wind, Debbie Thompson, Ronald (Debbie) Wind, Connie (Keith) Peterson, Peggy (Dwayne) Ivie, Pamala (Richard) Jorgenson, William Luker, Deborah Evans, Thomas (Cheryl) Luker; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James (Carla) Wind.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Edith Fullmer Wind, and Neta Heath Wind; his mother and father; two sons, Bernie and Russell; a granddaughter, Wendy; a great-grandson, Kasey Curtis Rymer; and a brother, Donald Wind.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem. Friends and family may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Eastlawn Cemetery. Maurine Winget Colby, age 90, returned to Heavenly Father and loved ones on Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Salt Lake City, surrounded by her husband and family. Her life has been an example of service and unconditional love.

Maurine was born December 20, 1917, in Monroe, Sevier, Utah, to Ellis and Ida May Baldwin Winget. She grew up in Frog Town (Austin), Utah, with three brothers and one sister. She graduated from high school in Monroe, Utah.

Maurine met Orrin Tether Colby at a high school dance, and they were married November 15, 1937, in the Manti LDS Temple. They have been a perfect example of devotion and love for 70 years. They began their life together in Bingham Canyon, Utah, and have lived in a number of places in Utah, settling in Salt Lake City about 35 years ago.

Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in presidencies and as a teacher for Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women. Maurine and Orrin were ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple for 14 years. She was proud of her pioneer heritage and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Maurine has had health problems her entire life, but her unwavering faith and determined resilience has sustained her. Her loves were Orrin, her family, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Besides being with her family, she enjoyed reading, quilting, and crocheting.

She is survived by her husband, Orrin; five children, Orrin Tether, Jr. and JoAnn Colby of Salt Lake City; Lorraine and Ronald Barton of St. George; Linda and Clyde L. Hone Jr. of Riverton; Evelyn and Steve Baugh of Pleasant Grove; and Stanley and Charlotte Colby of American Fork; thirty grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lerue and Nola Winget of St. George. Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Sherral and Dewain, and sister, Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held at the Poplar Grove Ward, 1401 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will be one hour before the services at the ward and on Friday evening 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road. Interment also be at Redwood Memorial Estates.

We are so grateful to the staff at Brighton Gardens for their great kindness and capable care. We are also extremely appreciative of the loving service and friendship of the members of the Poplar Grove Ward.
