Colby, Margaret D. SUN PRAIRIE/ WINDSOR Margaret D. Colby, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at the Willows Nursing and Rehab Center, Sun Prairie. She was born on April 29, 1921, in DeForest, the daughter of Benjamin and Hilda (Nelson) Vedvik. Margaret was united in marriage to Kenneth Colby on Aug. 10, 1947, in DeForest, and they enjoyed more than 56 years of marriage until his death on Feb. 7, 2004. Mrs. Colby was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Madison. In her spare time she enjoyed bingo and doing crossword puzzles. Survivors include her children, Larry (Jane Becker) Churchill of Endeavor, Linda (John) Riek of Sun Prairie, Jerome (Carol) Churchill of Windsor, Francis "Frank" Churchill of Madison, Douglas (Susan) Colby of Poynette, and Diane (Ronald) Bebout of Colona, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Churchill; brothers, James, Nelson, Jerome and Sidney; and sister, Henrietta Anderson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, with the Rev. Mary Pharmer officiating.
