Sylvia Stewart 1910 ~ 2006 Sylvia Stewart, 95, passed away August 8, 2006 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sylvia was born August 17, 1910 in Circleville, Utah to Joseph A. Stewart and Uzella Thurber Stewart. She was fifth oldest of eight children. Although Sylvia married and divorced twice, she had no children of her own, but many nieces and nephews and their children who loved her deeply for all she did for them throughout her life. She was "Aunt Sylvia" to every child who knew her. She will be fondly remembered by her family, friends, and neighbors on Yale Avenue. Sylvia was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended the Harvard Ward for over 50 years and was best remembered for her many years of service working with children in Primary, and Sunday School. She also served a stake mission. Sylvia visited her family with her Brownie camera in hand and took pictures of those she loved. Her embroidered pillowcases, table clothes, and handkerchiefs are works of art. Her passing will leave a void in our hearts to be replaced with a lifetime of memories. The family wishes to thank the staffs at the University of Utah Hospital and Bennion Care Center for caring for Sylvia in such a kind and gentle manner. Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and a brother. She is survived by two sisters, Odetta McLaw, Tooele, Utah and Carrie Schow, Ogden, Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
