Paro Ruth Colby (Stackpole) Paro, 92, formerly of Nashua, Hollis, Wash ington and Richmond, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1995, at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown. Mrs. Paro had been employed as a stitcher in the shoe industry. She was employed with the former McElwain Shoe Co. and Interna- tional Shoe Co. while living in Nashua. She later was employed with the former Princess Shoe Co. of Keene while living in Richmond. She held membership in the First Baptist Church of Nashua and was active in its Women's Fellowship for many years. She kept busy with sewing and needlework of all kinds. She attended grammar schools in Nashua and graduated from Colby- Sawyer Preparatory School in New London. Mrs. Paro was born in Nashua on June 7, 1903, daughter of the late William Edgar and Anna F. (Colby) Stackpole. She married Thomas J. Paro in February 1926 and they made their home in Washington and Richmond. He died in 1964. She returned to the Nashua area in 1975 and made her home in Nashua and in Hollis. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Anna E. and Victor Throop of Jacksonville, Fla., and Esther R. and Leonard J. Roy of Hollis, and formerly of Nashua, with whom she had made her home for many years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Benjamin W. and Sandra Paro of Walnut Cove, N.C., and Richard T. and Deborah Paro of Keene; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grand-children and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
