Owen, 78, died at 1 p.m. Monday at his home in Columbia township, near Grand Junction, after a long illness. Born Jul 26, 1874, in Cass county, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Owen, he had lived most of his life in Columbia township, where he farmed. On April 13, 1941, Mr. Owen married Marjorie Ellen Grimes in Waverly township. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jasper, of route 2, Grand Junction, and Gwen of Kalamazoo; five grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Verna Dillon, of Santa Barbara, Calif.
