Marguerite D. Gerald
WATERVILLE -- Marguerite D. Gerald of Waterville passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, March 22, 2007, and is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.

She was born in Frankfort on Sept. 22, 1919, the daughter of the late Winfield and Minnie Colby.

She was educated in schools in Frankfort and Belfast.

Marguerite married Howard H. Gerald on Nov. 9, 1940, and they shared many wonderful years together until his death in 1973.

She had been a member of the Rebecca's during her earlier years and was also a member of the Second Baptist Church in Waterville.

Marguerite was an avid reader, often reading two books a week.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Howard H. Gerald; her son, Terrance P. O'Brien Sr.; a grandson, Terrance P. O'Brien Jr.; a brother, Richard Kinney; and a sister, Marion Colby.

Marguerite will be sadly missed by her daughter, Linda G. Gerald of Massachusetts; nephew Timothy Elms of Winslow; niece, Sonia Rush and husband Jack, of Arizona; two great-nieces, Jackie Charity and husband Rick, of Benton and Melissa Richards and husband Dean, of Hartland; two great-great-nieces, Ami Newell and husband Ben, of Albion and Kelsey Richards of Hartland; two great-great-nephews, Richard Charity III of Benton and Zachary Richards of Hartland; great-great-great-nephew Ayden Newell of Albion; grandchildren, Teana Hanks of Lewiston and April Sawtelle of Vassalboro; great-grandchildren, Frankie, Alex, Aliane, Lilly, Dana-Michael and Jaksie; honorary daughters, Fran Weiner, Arleen Allen and Jean Hamer; dearest friends, Daniel, Alisa, Alec and Abigail Jolicoeur; and many other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 26, at the Second Baptist Church in Waterville with Pastor William Gilbert officiating. Spring burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Oakland.
