Sarah COX was born about 1782 in South Carolina. She died after 1841 at Randolph County, Illinois. She has Ancestral File Number 1WM5-2V. She is reference number 63. Thomas McBride's father and mother and eldest sister came from Ireland to Abbeville, South Carolina about 1768. The family apparently lived in Abbeville until after 1800, probably early in 1802 when Thomas' parent, himself, his brothers and sisters, and his own wife and two children left South Carolina for Illinois. They stopped off somewhere in Kentucky for a year or two, where a third child was born to Thomas and his wife. Two of Thomas' brothers, John and William were married while in Kentucky, but both their wives died a short time later. All of the McBride's left Kentucky and arrived in Randolph, Illinois near end of 1804. Thomas and his wife spent the rest of their years in Randolph Co. and apparently died there. From Ruth Marcum Lind, we find that Jane, child #4 was a smaller crippled child who later smoked a corn cob pipe. She lived with her sister, Elizabeth, for most of most of her adult life. In the 1880 Federal census for Sevier County, Utah, she is listed in Elizabeth's household, age 76, and bedridden, and helpless for 25 years. This sheet researched by LaVonna L.
