H., Attended by Many Friends and Relatives of Esteemed Citizen. HILLSBORO BRIDGE, N. H., Jan 29 --- The funeral of Elbridge Ramsey Colby, who died Tuesday at his home in this place, took place this afternoon at 2 from the family residence. Many relatives and friends attended the services, which were conducted by Rev. Mr. Brown, pastor of the methodist Episcopal church. Mr. Colby was born in Henniker 68 years ago. The family removed to Deering and lived there until the death of the father, 28 years ago. Mr. Colby was unmarried, and, with his sister, Miss Lucy A. Colby, had made his home in Hillsboro Bridge since that time. Possessed of a lovable disposition, kind and generous, Mr. Colby was held in esteem. Thoughtful acts among his neighbors, and help to those who felt the need of aid and comfort in times of affliction, made up the every-day deeds of his life and won for him a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his sister and a brother, Ebenezer Colby. At the services this afternoon there were prayers, Scripture reading and a eulogy by Rev. Mr. Brown, and the singing of "In the Sweet By and By" and "Nearer, My God, to Thee" by Mr. and Mrs. Newman. The coffin upon which lay many beautiful floral tributes, was borne by these lifelong friends and neighbors Ira Appleton, Rufeland Childs, Charles H. Clement and Martin Wyman.
