Donna Colby Christensen Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Donna Colby Christensen passed away July 12, 2002 at the age of 85. She was born May 6, 1917 in Vermillion, UT, to Frank Leo and Lola H. Watson Colby. She graduated from Delta High School and in 1937 she married her sweet-heart, Jay Christensen from Oasis, UT. They moved to Milford with Jay's work (Tri-State Lumber/Boise Cascade) and then on to Richfield, and Rexburg, ID. They enjoyed lasting friendships with many associates and neighbors wherever they lived. Upon Jay's death in 1969, she moved to Salt Lake City where she was employed with JC Penney until her retirement in 1982. She lived many years in West Valley City next to her daughter where she attended the Taylorsville 12th Ward. She enjoyed her association with her friends in the "Merry Widows" single sisters group. Her other great enjoyments were traveling to new places, family gatherings and especially being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Sharon (Douglas) Burr, Orem, Darwin (Judy) Christensen, Sandy, Keith (Beth) Christensen, Scottsdale, AZ, Cher (Dennis) Zobell, West Valley City; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Neil (Jan) Colby, Jerald Colby. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brother, James (Betty) Colby; and one grandchild. Services will be Wed. July 17, 2002, 11 a.m., Taylorsville 12 Ward Chapel (4505 S. 3420 W, West Valley City, UT). Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr, Tues.
