BIOGRAPHY: The History of the Early Settlers of Sangamon County, Illinois. Susannah married T homas Cosser, a native of England. He went from Sangamon to Navarro county, Texas in Feb., 1 860 and Susannah went in September the following year. Thomas went into partnership with Maj . H. P. Darling in the business of wool growing. Whilst engaged in sheep shearing at Laredo , near Ft. McIntosh, Webb county, Texas, in Apr 1866, Thomas, a Mr. Smith and a negro boy were killed b y Indians, who made a raid on them and were gone before the soldiers in the fort were award o f their presence. Mr. Darling was killed at the same time, but some miles away. Susannah, M rs. Smith and a daughter of Maj. Darling burried the bodies with their own hands. Susannah r eturned to Sangamon county, and was married to Thomas Baker.
