Samuel Fairbank(s) was born in Lancaster, Worcester Co., MA the son of Silas and Lydia ( Prouty) Fairbank. The family moved to Windham Co., VT (Putney). Samuel filed intentions to ma rry Mary "Polly" Blood in Putney, VT on 8 Oct. 1797. They lived first in Putney, then Brookli ne, then Hopewell Tp, Muskingum Co., OH where they moved about 1814 He died there in 1853, ag ed 75 yrs, bur. in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cem. Sharmin again writes: I enjoyed sharing your information with Anita Kerr East today. She i s a descendent of Manerva as listed in the subject. She has not been able to document that M anerva is the daughter of Samuel and Polly although she believes this to be true. She was wo ndering where you got your documentation for her membership in the family. She doesn't hav e E mail so she asked me to relay the messages. Also of interest, I have found several probate documentes for Jackson Co., Kansas for m y relative Horace (Harris) Fairbanks as well as a executor probate for the estate of James Fa irbanks Dated: September 20, 1861. It names a Caroline Fairbanks as primary and Samuel Fair banks and H. Hart as secondary executors. I believe this could be the son's of Samuel and Mary Blood. Who do you think Caroline i s? James had a son named Hamlin by his second wife "Mrs.James Fairbanks", and they had a daug hter. Hamlin and his wife,Sarah Olive Dickson, had a Daughter Mary E. born Oct 24, 1869, Mus kingum Co., Ohio per the RLDS library IGA. Do you think Caroline might be the name of the daughter (unmarried) of Samuel and Mary B lood? Of course James had been married to Caroline Dove, but I don't have record of her deat h or their divorce, so could it be her? Just thought you might like to chew on that mister y or share it with others you may be in contact with. I do have a copy of the document an d I found it in Vol 3, microfilm AR5202 at the Kansas State Historical Library in Topeka. Am still looking for that clincher for Horace (Harris) to tie with Samuel, I think I'm c lose.
