Living with Catherine Piilg ram age 51 and born in North Carolina.spouse: Ayers, Almira Jennie (1847 - 1922)The following information is from Vicki King: William Henry Pilgrim b 29 August 1839 Round Grove, Whiteside Co, IL d 6 Jun 1918 Los An geles, CA - parents unknown at this time. He was raised by Richard Parker + wife Elizabet h Pilgrim Parker. Elizabeth Pilgrim + Richard Parker were married 28 Dec 1831 in Lanesville , Harrison County, IN. I am going to put William Henry Pilgrim under Richard Parker in my fa mily tree until we find out who his parents were.

1856 Iowa State Census - my copy is really hard to read the micrfishe was bad. William Pilgri m age 16 b IL living with Richard age either 47 or 67 + Elizabeth Parker age 47. All 3 hav e number of years living in State of IA as 16 years. It appears Richard Parker was William H enry Pilgrim's guardian since he was living with them from at least 1850. They all came to I A about 1840.
1860 Census Index Mahaska County, Oskaloosa twp, page 236 William H Pilgrim listed on the ind ex but I do not have the census info - wish I did. This may be the same William or another Wi lliam I have. Need the info to see which one.
1870 Census Index Mahaska County, Oskaloosa twp, page 319 - William Pilgrim. I don't have thi s census info either. There is another William Pilgrim listed in Union twp page 451 but tha t is William A Pilgrim, my greatgreatuncle. Cherie wrote William H Pilgrim was living with C atherine Pillgram age 51 b NC on the 1870 census. Catherine Pilgrim is listed on the 1870 Ce nsus Index in Oskaloosa twp page 319. I don't have the part of the Index that would say if R ichard + Elizabeth Parker were listed. I found a death record for an Elizabeth Parker b 20 O ct 1807 d 13 Feb 1861 buried Highland Cemetery, Harrison Twp, Mahaska County, IA and am not s ure if that is her or not. Need to check this 1870 census for more info.
William Henry Pilgrim married Almira Jennie Ayers on 17 Jul 1871 in Mahaska County IA. Mahas ka County Marriage Book 4 1865-1872 page 24 lists her name as Jennie Ayers.

Mahaska Co Marriage Book 1889-1897 page 36. Madora die d 5 Feb 1916. Several Furnal's listed in Mahaska Co Cemetery book but not Charles + Madora. Charles Pilgrim b 1 Oct 1873 Bussey, Marion Co, IA. Cherie Logan wrote that Charles mar ried Jennie about 1898. Mahaska County Marriage Book 1898-1905 lists Charles R Pilgrim marrie d Nancy J Sampson 1899 - no month or date listed. William Albert Pilgrim b 11 Jan 1876 Bussey, Marion Co. IA. Died 20 Oct 1955. Cherie w rote William married May Douglas about 1901. Mahaska County Marriage Book 1898-1905 lists Wi lliam A Pilgrim age 24 married Ettie Mae Douglas age 24 on 5 August 1899 Mahaska County. Mah asha County Cemetery Vol 4 page 319 lists as buried in White Oak Grove Cemetery, White Oak Tw p. - May Pilgrim b 1876 d 1925. This was the only grave that was listed for a Pilgrim tha t I did not find + photograph when I was in Oskaloosa. It is located east of Oskaloosa. No listing in Cemetery Books for William Albert Pilgrim because he died after graves wer e walked. Clara Maye Pilgrim b 17 Aug 1878 Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, IA. d 21 Jan 1953 Phoenix , Maricopa, AZ. Buried Forest Lawn Cemetery Oskaloosa IA. Married Walter Morgan Hook 10 Ma r 1899 Montezuma, Poweshiek Co, IA. Again not listed in Cemetery books as died after Cemeter y walked. ***need photograph this grave*** Emmet Ellsworth Pilgrim b 3 Apr 1881 Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co IA d 14 Sep 1929. Per Cheri e Logan married Ada Bonner abt 1906 in IA. No listing for this marriage in Mahaska Co. NOTE : I have 1 Bonner family in Harrison County IA in my database that are ancestors of my cousi n Rita Butt. No Ada Bonner listed. They came from Clay or Wayne Co IL early 1900's.
