Design was done and work began. A life of beauty was the plan. The scraps were cut with loving care From cloth with colors bright and fair. With time the bits were pieced with love. The work was done by God above, As quilting made this work of art With strength and body, warmth and heart. The lives she's touched have known her grace, A tapestry we can't replace. The Lord is pleased! Her life complete, He beckons home His wondrous feat.
Marilyn Eastridge Munroe
Please, Lord, hear these words for our mother whom you have taken home, To be welcomed by a host of friends who have gone before, To where she will meet no enemies, for none did she have. Mourned by her children, sister, grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and many more, She is now with others who loved her; husband and siblings Who passed before her, and in passing left a void.. To this mourner her light and their lights will always shine, To this mourner they are giants in the earth.. And she will now become what she was among us, an angel, past perfect. There were many things she did not have and they defined her well, For she did not have anger, conceit, prejudice, nor envy. What she had was thoughtfulness for others And patience, love and equanimity. She was forgiving and what she could not forgive, she forgot. The epitaph we would claim for her: "The good she always saw in others, could best be found in her." Were virtue perfectly rewarded, when she was unable to walk alone, A hundred helping hands would not have done her justice. Yet when her pathway narrowed, this angel had three angels to guide her, And we offer praise and thanks to Elsa, Marilyn and Roy, For the tender mercies they rendered.. The way she led her life She deserved only the best and, in truth, she received from them no less. As Heaven now receives her, our memory of her will be Of one of Your finest works, a fine blend Of love, patience and equanimity. For those of us who knew her, she can not be replaced.. Many a grieving child has said, "There will never be anyone to equal my mother." We say it, too. With her presence graced We thank Thee, Lord, for that gentle life And pray that we may be as good.
