  General Notes:

In Robert Coddington's application for a pension, his mother, Sarah Hodgson, swore an affadavit that he fell ill with smallpox in March, 1777 and she brought him to the house of James Dunham, who then resided at Westfield. Further, Christian Dunham, wife of James Dunham also swore an affadavit that in February of 1777 her family removed from Woodbridge to Westfield on account of the British troops being in and about Woodbridge, and while they resided there Robert Coddington was brought to her house ill with smallpox.
As John Insley Coddington remarked, people were not in the habit of bringing smallpox victims into the houses of slight acquaintances: the relation between Sarah and James Dunham must have been close, e.g. siblings. ⁵⁰¹¹

Christian married James DUNHAM, son of Joseph DUNHAM and Elizabeth, before 1777 ⁴¹⁶.^,5011 (James DUNHAM was born Ca 1725 ¹⁹⁸⁹ and died after 1792 ⁴¹⁶.)
