Shroyer
Leonard Shroyer came to Pike Township, Stark County, Ohio by 1815. Some of his children, including John and Leonard jr., remained in the Stark and Tuscarawas County area. Others went to Crawford County in the 1830s and on to Wood County in the 1840s. Those who went to Wood County included Phillip , Simon , Sarah and Adam . Simon moved to Noble County, Indiana in the 1850s. There are still Shroyers in Stark and Wood Counties.
Most of the Shroyer family were farmers. Some were German Brethren of the Dunkard group. Leonard's grandson Reuben Shroyer was a prominent Dunkard minister.
