     Charles Edwin Cochran was born on 29 January 1839 at Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio.3,4 He was the son of John Lowrey Cochran and Elvina P. Williams. He and Lucetta Heskett daughter of Harvey Heskett and Eleanor Rollison were married on 24 October 1867 at Muskingum County, Ohio, by by E. W. Daniels.5 He died on 7 February 1917 at McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio, at age 78.6,3 He was buried on 9 February 1917 in McConnelsville Cemetery (McConnelsville), Morgan County, Ohio.7,3
     Charles Edwin Cochran appeared on the census of 1850 in the household of John Lowrey Cochran and Elvina P. Williams at Morgan Township, Morgan County, Ohio. .8 He appeared on the census of 11 June 1860 in the household of Hugh Macauley Cochran and Mary Royston Bozman at McConnelsville. He is enumerated as a 21 year old tobacconist with a personal estate of $1000.9
     Charles enlisted in the Signal Corps on 20 February 1864 at Columbus.10 He was discharged from the Signal Corps on 22 August 1865.10 He was five feet seven inches tall with brown eyes, light hair and light complexion.10
     Charles and Lucetta appeared on the 1870 US Census taken 3 August 1870 at McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio, with Laura W. Cochran. The family was sharing a house with Charles's mother Elvina Waterman.11 He was in cigar manufacturing.12
     Charles was town treasurer between 1877 and 1885 at McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio.13
