Joseph Croft was born circa 15 April 1841 at Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio.1,2 He was the son of John Croft and Mary A. Roberts. He died on 21 December 1899 at Portage Township, Wood County, Ohio. His frozen body was found under a corn crib.2,3
