However, the 1850 census listed her birthplace as Canada.1,2 She and John Croft were married.3Mary and John appeared on the US Census taken 14 August 1850 at 4th Ward, Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, with Elizabeth A. Croft, Mary E. Croft, Joseph Croft, George Croft, John Samuel Croft and Joseph Croft. Joseph was a 75 year old born in Ireland.4 Mary and John appeared on the 1860 US Census taken 30 July 1860 at Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio, with Joseph Croft, George Croft, John Samuel Croft and Carrie Mary Croft. The 1860 census stated John was born in Ireland and Mary was born England.5
Mary appeared on the 1870 US Census taken 21 July 1870 at Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio, with Carrie Mary Croft. Mary was enumerated as Mary A. Crofts age 50 and born in England.6
