     Robert S. Cochran was born on 11 August 1782 at Pennsylvania.1,3 He was the son of James Cochran and Margaret Lowry.1 He died on 19 September 1873 at 2nd Ward, Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio, of consumption at age 91.3
     Robert S. Cochran lived at e s Fifth between South and Canal, Zanesville, in 1856.4 He lived at East Fifth between South and Canal, Zanesville, Ohio, in 1856. This was the residence of his brother John Lowrey Cochran.4 He appeared on the census of 1860 in the household of John Lowrey Cochran and Mary Catherine Bricker at Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. .5
     Robert S. Cochran appeared on the census of 16 July 1870 in the household of Alexander A. McKinney and Caroline Amanda Cochran at Putnam, Muskingum County, Ohio. He was enumerated as Robert Cockran 88 born Pennsylvania who "lives with daughter". However, Caroline may have been his neice rather than his daughter.6
