     Thomas Stacy was born on 25 December 1782. He was born in New York according to the 1850 census, but in Virginia according to a county history.1,2,3 He was the son of Mathew Stacy and Jane Thomson. He and Mary Bonner were married on 11 December 1802 at Berkley County, Virginia.4,3 He died on 26 September 1852 at Poland Township, Mahoning County, Ohio, at age 69.2 His estate was probated on 22 October 1852 at Poland Township, Mahoning County, Ohio.5
     Thomas was on the 1810 and 1812 tax lists of Poland Township, Trumbull County, Ohio.6,7
     Thomas was an heir of his father, Mathew Stacy in the will written on 28 August 1815 at New Lisbon, Columbiana County, Ohio. He was to receive $25 from his brother Mathew jr. after their mother's death.8
     Thomas was head of household on the 1820 US Census at Poland Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. The household consisted of 3 males under 10, 2 males 10-16, 1 male 16-26, 1 male 26-45, 1 female under 10, 1 female 10-16, 1 female 16-26, and 1 female 26-45.9 He was head of household on the 1830 US Census at Poland Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. The household consisted of 2 males 15-20, 3 males 20-30, 1 male 50-60, 1 female 20-30, and 1 female 50-60.11
     On 1 July 1841 Thomas bought two 160 acre tracts of land in Wayne County, Illinois, by cash entry land patents.12 He also sold 100 acres in Wood County to Robert R. Livingston in a deed signed on 20 May 1848 at Mahoning County, Ohio. .13
     Thomas and Mary appeared on the US Census taken 25 September 1850 at Poland Township, Mahoning County, Ohio. Also in the household was Lucy, surname unclear, age 10..14
     Thomas was a farmer in 1850 at Poland Township, Mahoning County, Ohio.14
     Thomas made a will on 11 August 1852 at Poland Township, Mahoning County, Ohio.5
