In the begininng.....
My COCHRAN line begins with Patric Cochran, who came over from Ireland (?) and according to a travel log/diary of his grandson, Ammon Cochran was the grandfather of John Whitsett Cochran, who was born in 1796 Davidson Co. TN, where they stayed in that general area, including Carroll, Weakley, and Dyer Counties. Then sometime after 1880, my G-G Grandfather, Francis M. Cochran, moves his family to the Bowie Co. TX area, where his descendents can still be found in that general area today.  .  I am starting my Cochran line with the Fly family, to show the double decendancy from Elisha Fly Jr. as two of his daughters would both later become my gggg grandmothers.

CUTBIRTH (Burth, Berth)

After Ben died around 1814-16 in Giles/Maury County TN, his brood, except for Ben Jr. who had parted ways with his family around 1800-05, stayed in Giles County area until after 1850, when some move to TX and MS, but my line next shows up in the Greene Co. MO, 1860 census. Some of Ben Sr's. lines, especially his daughters, and granddaughters, stayed in TN. His son, Ben Jr., can be traced through KY, IN, IL, MO, and IA, where at this point he settled for good as far as is known. My Cutbirth line in Greene Co.MO starts with George Cutbirth who arrived in the Springfield MO area after 1850, and stayed there until after 1870, where my G-G-Grandfather Willis Irvin shows up in Dent, Greene, Lawrence, and Stone Cos. MO., and my G-G Grandfather, Frank J. Cutbirth was born in 1875. Willis dies in 1923 Stone Co. MO.  During the "Roaring Twenties" some of the Cutbirths can be found in Joplin MO, doing a little "business" on the side, beteween Joplin and Kansas City. Lets just say, prohibition laws didn't impress them to awful lot! There were some though, including my grandfather Frank J. Cutbirth Jr., who would take up the mining trade in the Webb City MO, to Picher OK areas. His half brother, Bert, would travel on through OK, CO into Idaho, where he settled for the rest of his life. And the ELLINGSWORTH family first shows up around 1654 in Baltimore Maryland, with a Richard Ellingsworth, who possibly crossed the Atlantic from England with a boatload of immigrants sponsored by Lord (NOT Lady!) Baltimore. The Ellingsworths show up here and there after that, including DE, KY, VA, OH, & IN. But up until my William Ellingsworth shows up in Vigo Co. IN, there is not to much on them as of right now.William and Elizabeth marry in Vigo Co. IND, then travel to Richland Co. ILL, then on to MO between 1840 & 50. They settle in Boone/Carrol Co. AR for a short time, until the War breaks out. Assuming that their politics don't agree with the locals at that time, they end up in Christian Co. where they can still be found today. If Not Steven, then is this my William's father? William had brother Thomas, in Richland Co. ILL and sister, Sarah, married Stephen Grimes. All W'm and Elizabeth's living children found in 1860 Carroll Co. AR census. Dead letter in 1848 Greene Co. MO for W'm Ellingsworth. According to information found in the family Bible of James & Phoebe Johnson Webb of Deleware; (found in DE. BIBLE RECORDS VOL. 1 by DONALD O. VIRDON) his daughter Lovey, marrried a Benjamin Ellinsworth and had 6 children:Phebe B:10 Nov 1820, James B:19 Jan 1822, Jane B:31 Dec 1824-7, Robinson Waples B:19 Aug 1829, Margaret Ann B:29 Sep 1832, & Mary B:19 Sep 1837.
