Although he married, Edmund apparently died without issue. In hisWill, which was probated on 24 August 1693, he left his entire estateto his three brothers, Robert, Ambrose and Otho. He also mentionedhis stepson Matthew Pierce and a cousin Eliza Kerle, which wasapparently related through his mother's family. The surname Kerleappears several times in Cobb family records of early York County.

"Mr. AMBROSE COBBS brother to Mr. Edmund Cobbspetitioning this Court for two thirds of all the land his brother dyedpossest of which is now in the possession of his relict Mrs. FrancesCobbs, itt is ordered that Mr. Samll Timson and Mrs. Henry Tyler meetupon the land on 5 October next and lay out the land into three equallparts for the more planer discovery and certainty of the widow'sthirds."
