[3516] There is confusion regarding the fate of William S. Taylor. Anindividual by that name enlisted as a Private in the 27th TennesseeInfantry Regiment, during the War Between the States. That individualdied at Corinth, Mississippi, in May 1862. However, a letter writtenin 1867, now in the possession of a Taylor descendant seems toindicate our William at least survived the war. Again however, hiswife was listed as a widow on the 1870 census of Henderson County,Tennessee.
[9665] The early marriage records of Fayette County, Alabama, have been lostdue to several fires. The information concerning the marriages ofWilliam S. Taylor are taken from the bible of Green B. Taylor, fatherof both brides.
